2026 KANGAROO DESIGN

The coin’s reverse portrays two kangaroos leaping across the water. The background features water ripples and splashes with a mountain landscape in the distance. A privy mark with the number 40 pays tribute to the 40th anniversary of the Australian Nugget, the first official Australian legal tender gold coin series. Included within the design is the inscription ‘KANGAROO’ and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark, along with the coin’s weight, purity and 2026 year-date.

ABOUT PERTH MINT

The Perth Mint opened in 1899 as the British Royal Mint's 3rd branch in Australia. The historical Hay Street location handled gold refining until moving to a modern facility in April 1990. Ownership of the mint was transferred to the Government of Western Australia in July of 1970. Under an agreement with the Commonwealth Treasury, they were empowered to mint and market gold, silver, and platinum as Australian legal tender to investors and collectors worldwide.
