The bar's obverse features the falcon-headed Egyptian Sky-God, Horus, whose human form was the Pharaoh himself.

Horus is shown on a field of Egyptian hieroglyphs, with grooves giving the impression of a tomb-wall façade.

The equally atmospheric reverse design depicts the sky god's avian namesake, the falcon, wings outstretched and with the sun-disk overhead.

This feature is set on a field of stone-façade design, with hieroglyphs, and also shows the bar's weight and purity.
